Natural Abstractions

Photography, as much of art, seeks to render what we see in 3 dimensions, in 2 dimensional form.  For a lot  of years one foundational goal of art was to make it resemble the original reality as much as possible.

Beginning In the mid 19th century, several schools of art emerged which focused on the effect the work had on the viewer, instead of realistically depicting the subject:  Impressionism, Cubism, and Abstract Expressionism to name a few.

Nature is the original artist, and the images it presents to us can be seen in both a representational and an abstract sense.
